Applebeer Nightgaunts Friday nightApplebeer Nightgaunts by ~cliqueofone
getting drunk on
apple beer listening to Brahms'
Hungarian Dances
and reading Lovecraft -
not as cozy as it
sounds;
I am sitting in the middle of a hard floor and
my neighbors creak and thump and chitter about me like
giant rats
and honestly
my furniture moves depending what floorboards they
traverse.
the rats in the walls...
H.P. got the mood right but the species wrong
this is a place for things with weird lives
festering with discontent and poor
knowledge of how to use every
heartbeat for what it's worth.
All chemical imbalances & welfare cheques.

Betrayal, Never Not a Surprise if you're in a car accidentBetrayal, Never Not a Surprise by ~cliqueofone
if you fall down a hill
if you skid along the ground at 30 kmh
if you take a beating outside and behind a pub
if parts of you fly away in a minefield
if you burn
if part of the building is pulled off after five days
if you chase after death with drugs
and you get up again at
some point
if the body is so self-preserving
why does the mind
so often
in such a catalogue of designs
seek a different outcome?

This pic is from a long time ago & the whole piece is gone now.
It was on the side of the building that used to be the free work-planning office (now an African/world-art shop) just next to the post office lot across the street from JJ Bean's near the Skytrain.
The Drive needs more of the old-days' spontaneous art & less B.I.A.-approved "Totally Drive Certified" facelifts
(resisting urge to go off on municipal-politics rant)
I've got a bunch of old(-ish) photo's from the drive I want to get up here - just need the time to dig through the crate...
